You have a moderator named Tery Robertson. She has not posted here since Christmas Eve. Huh?

Tery came to prominence as the winner of a freebie from Jeff Walker, his Product Launch Formula course. Her name was selected from a list of about 400 hopeful contestants. She made great promises and commitments. Indeed she was going to give her copy away after she proved that Jeff's product really delivered results.

Her story was touching. But you know the - I am so desparate and if you just give me a chance I will make you proud - thing was pushed and promoted here too.

She has not made a posting to her blog since Dec. 9th and was only sporadic prior to that. Yet here in mid November there were multiple postings to this foum daily.

Don't misunderstand, I bought and paif for Jeff's course but there were many people who were desperate for a hand up. Is this the usual if you get if for nothing...........you don't appreciate it? Or is there something going on that I am not aware of? I don't want to rush to judgment but this does not look good. I encouraged her a lot and thought she was the real deal.

Quite frankly I had no idea what qualified her to be a moderator here either.

Can anyone shine a light on this mystery woman?

What qualifies anyone to be a moderator? It isn't rocket science someone to delete the few spam posts now and then, I have been a moderator for over a year now and I think I have deleted two posts.

I cannot speak for Tery but maybe she is trying to work on her business? Posting on forums and writing to blogs that do not earn you money is a big waste of time. Look at John's blog he hasn't posted since May of 05.

First of all, I agree with Derrick... if she hasn't been making posts, maybe it's because she's building her business, actually applying what she's learning in Jeff Walker's course.

Maybe she's applying the techniques, and starting to see some results, with the intention of sharing her results and/or ultimately giving her course away to someone once she's sucked all of the info out of it.

I don't personally see anything wrong with her not being on the boards, and I think it's pretty pessimistic to assume that a person is ungrateful for receiving something when there's absolutely no cause to believe so.

She hasn't made any disparaging comments, from what I can tell, about the course, and there's no evidence that she just took the course and put it up on a shelf, or anything like that.

But if she did... so what? It's none of our business what she's doing in her life or business, whether she's using that course, or whatever.

True, there probably were many people who could have used that course, but the fact is that regardless of who else may have ended up with it, there was a very good chance that this other person would have done a lot less with it than what I believe Tery has.

Anyway, maybe you were just curious, and didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, but the way it was worded, it sounded like you were upset with her for some reason, possibly for not coming in and keeping everyone posted on her results, or whatever, but regardless of that, I choose to think that Jeff Walker made the best decision he could have based on the info he was given by many applicants, and if she does or doesn't use that course, is truly no one's business but her own.

So to answer your original question... no, I don't believe this is a case of being ungrateful for receiving the free course, and if she's not making posts, I assume she's found a better use of her time... hopefully taking action on her Internet business.

She may not post alot, but when she did it sure was filled with lot's of content.

I think that may have been why people were lending her a helping hand, and allowed here to be moderator.

I was quite impressed with the amount of effort she put into her posts. I'd enjoy seeing more.

Gentlemen, these are very interesting responses. I am glad you are loyal and defending a comrade. This is good. Derrick, as to moderator status and qualifications I would have no idea and wouldn't presume to say what they should be but I thought it was unusual to have a self-professed newbie pass judgment on other people's posts on this particular well informed forum with the ability to delete. It seemed that when she came on board the Michel Fortin was somewhat desperate for help so I don't know how that adds up Derrick but it is no big deal either way.

I supported Tery, in fact my username in her forum was Terysfan, not in some stalker kind of way but because I had high hopes, related to her story of misfortune and believed she would do something worthwhile. One of my posts to her blog was a bit tongue in cheek but it was the top 10 reasons she WOULD succeed. So I am not a Tery basher but I am hugely disappointed. And I posted more than anyone else to her blog.

And I disagree strongly with the thoughts expressed here multiple times. She DID have a responsibility to post. That was the whole point. She promised that her blog would be a regular deal informing people about her progress. In fact her last entry is that she will post that day or the next and that is two months ago.

The conditions that she accepted the gift were that she would use it. She also owes it to Jeff as her blog heading is that she will demonstrate good or bad whether this product works. And if she is using it then she should be posting and if not she should clarify her situation. It only takes a minute.

This is not the same as someone who purchased the product and could do what they wanted with it. Even her signature box on this forum was about how she was the winner of this product and would be publicly testing it.

I am concerned. She said that she woke up in the middle of the night to check her name to see if she really had won. Then she posted several times about her frustration with the delay in receiving it and how she freaked the UPS guy out with her enthusiasm when it came. What happened to all that?

I understand your feelings because I can see you're very passionate
about Internet Marketing, and eager to see Tery succeed, as well as
eager to follow along with her results.

I'm a little puzzled about your latest response, though, because except
for one comment about her not posting to HER blog in your original
message, the impression I got was that you were disappointed in her
for not posting more on THIS forum.

All I can say to you is that maybe you should try contacting her
personally if you have an email for her in a sympathetic, caring
way to make sure everything's alright with her.

I can see you do care about her after your latest post, but I just
took your original message more negatively/pessimisticly than you
probably intended for it to sound.

Anyway, I'm sure that she's doing all she can for her business, and
probably has plans to share her results with everyone, if that's what
she said she was going to do, but we also need to understand that
there's also the possibility that she's had some difficulties that may
be beyond her control that are preventing her from following through
on some of her wishes/promises. Things happen.

Like I said, I get the impression that you are simply very
passionate about I-marketing (and life), and are just wanting some
direction on how to improve your own business, and were hoping
that you could learn through her experiences, which is great.

I would suggest to let us know what exactly you are wanting to
learn more about (Product Launches, product creation, affiliate
marketing, outsourcing, list building, etc.), and ask specific
questions here in this forum, and we can more directly help
you out.

Let us know where you stand with your business, if you're just
starting, if you're already massively successful, etc., ask the
questions you have about what's holding you up, and then go
take action on one thing at a time until you experience a new
obstacle that you need help with, and then ask again for more
help. Then repeat.

Lastly, take maybe 10 minutes a day helping others by answering
questions on this/other forums, because you learn a lot by
teaching others. But by all means, after a few minutes, get back
to work because forums, even the best of them, can suck your
day away. Forums are here to get answers to specific questions,
to help others, and so on.

I'm sure you're aware of all that, but I'm on a roll. Just had to
say what was on my mind, and offer any help to you that may
be needed.

Wow, Andy has really been kind enough to answer you in detail and realize that you always have the help you need at your fingertips, should you need it. That's the important thing.

As far as Teri is concerned, I don't really know her, except a few interactions on this forum. So, I am not a "loyal and defending comrade" - but I don't think your expectations are fair.

Teri is a real human being with real life things to deal with. I hope she is okay and I'm sure she probably is. Just because she seemingly disappears off the face of the virtual world...it doesn't mean she's not around. I think her privacy should be respected.

As far as her promises to post go, we all know that we can be really excited about something at the beginning and have all kinds of great intentions. But things happen in business and in life, where we might not be able to do what we set out to. If Teri isn't posting to her blog or this forum...it happens. She doesn't actually owe you or me anything, so I guess you can wonder where she went - but you are acting like she owes you something.

Just keep working on your own business and doing what you can to contribute to others -- and you're going to do just great!

Hey folks... just saw this thread.

I heard from Tery about a month ago... she has a couple of ill family members - one of them terminal. She is the primary care-giver, and has been forced to put here Internet biz on hold while she helps her family members.

I have seen this happen to other folks, and it is a situation that almost all of us could find ourselves in. In fact, it is one of the reasons I want to make my business one that can run on autopilot... just in case I find myself in a similar situation.

I just hope that this situation passes with as much grace as possible for Tery and her family.
