Creating Product

I was hoping a few people would share how they create product quickly.

Currently when creating ebooks or paper-based books/manuals, I'll research the topic (multiple sources), taking notes and drawing pictures/charts. Then when I have a decent grasp of the subject, I develop an outline, speak my thoughts into a mini-cassette recorder, have it transcribe.

From there I edit it and add in examples/pics/charts and more content.

Seems slow and long.

Should I be passing some of this work to a ghostwriter?
