All that you have to do is add a "captcha" to the registration process and this automated garbage will go away for good.
PHPBB has a few easy to install plugins that literally take less than 5 minutes to install and once they are installed your SPAM problem is over with.
I was getting hammered by SPAM posts for the last week on my forum and since the captcha plugin install I've had ZERO forum spam..

Sometimes it frankly embarrassing to visit the forum with more spam posts than genuine posters. Please sort it out asap.
