John,

Thanks for being a professional and a mature adult.

I appreciate every single word you put out there. Some I use, some I know, some I ain't ready for yet, some I throw out.

Sorry to hear you're burning the all-nite and daylight oil, John, but I did a 7am to 12pm (midnite) day myself on Thursday. Why ? for 1 of my 200+ cusomers. Was he my best ? No. Largest ? No. Just a customer who needed a favor. The last 6 hours of the day were driving to a town 175 miles away, picking up 2 boxes, dropping them by a jobsite at 11:45 pm and then home. All because he can't count. That, ladies and gentlemen, is marketing and customer service.

Anyway, my friend, I'll pay for golf, if we ever get to play, first rounds on me Very Happy .

I'm gonna go by the office, do a little paperwork, find a customer to take to lunch and then go play 9 or 18 !

You keep dishin' the dirt as you see fit !

Mike

Alice, I quote from your own blog: "I've Been AWOL...What a boring blog!"

And, as I said, I'm sure your other blogs ( well, not really sure, but going to take your word for it ) are done on a more regular basis, kinda like your posts here...69 posts in 60 days...kinda like a blog, isn't it...daily even, almost. I'm not trying to pick on you. I really appreciate your input here. It's from a perspective we don't always get and one we need.

I don't feel picked on..why would I feel picked on? You've said some very kind things and thank you! BTW - My Traffic Secrets blog is just a side thing -- you want to check out aliceseba.com if you want to see a few more entries. Okay, not every day...but more often.

AND HEY - If you want to see more entries on the TS blog, leave some comments. Tons of people read it, but nobody says anything. I feel like I'm talking to myself. Sad So, if you want the blogger to blog -- SPEAK UP!

Hi John,

John Reese wrote:
My basic comment to those people, or anyone else that wants to 'complain' about it, is for them to NOT READ MY BLOG ... AT ALL. I never stated I was going to make a post everyday. I simply stated it was yet another outlet where I was going to share some of my thoughts from time to time.

If people don't like the frequency in which I post (no, I'm not aiming this at you) then TOUGH CRAP! It's *my* blog. I can post to it everyday or once a year. It's my choice.

I guess the way this thread developed was irritating for you. After your explanation I can see why.

Alice. John...

The comment I made above about the frequency of your blog posts was not a complaint in any way. In fact, if we were talking face to face you would have noticed that my tone was light - joking even.

I guess it's hard for me to express that tone when writing.

John, you said:

"yet another outlet where I was going to share some of my thoughts from time to time."

And that, to me, is the most accurate description of a blog I've seen to date. It needs to be added to the dictionary definition Mike referenced in his post.

I'll continue to read both your blog postings, whether they show up daily, monthly or yearly - because they're good. Not only is the content superb, the devilery is dead on target.

My apologies if anything I said in this thread hit a nerve with anyone.

Sincerely,

Paul Short

Alice,

Thanks for seeing thru Paul and me. We were both having a good time with you and John. Something I wouldn't do, unless I thought, or hoped you could take a ribbing.

I will read and interact on your other blogs...okay, not every day, but often Wink !

Paul,

Sorry if I got you into more than you needed to get into. You, my new friend, are a class act. I don't think John was aiming at us, but at another post, in a different place. He's way to professional to worry about us and a little fun. Besides, I too, will read every thing he writes, whenever that is. Not because he IS the be all and end all, but because he MIGHT be ! Just kiddin' !

Let's all move on to topics that benefit everyone.

Apologies to all,

Mike

Yes you are right, the Official Traffic Secrets forum was getting pretty brutal in there this weekend. Kind of funny actually when a bunch of computer geeks have a 'dust up' HOLY POCKET PROTECTORS BATMAN!!

But John answered the posts with class, as usual.

Respectfully,
Earl Lear

Paul, no apology necessary!

I certainly wasn't aiming that post at you. It wasn't at anyone in particular.

I guess, I just get frustrated (as you guys probably do too) when you see complaints about things that are totally unnecessary. It's like "beggars can't be choosers."

I think my friend Jim Edwards said it best in one of his Friday Night Smackdown rants (http://www.fridaynightsmackdown.com/) when someone was emailing him and complaining about something that he was giving away for FREE -- his newsletter.

I don't expect a huge "Thank You" gift in the mail, or even a single personal email from everyone that's ever read any of my free content and has gotten something out of it. I'm sure there are many people I don't even know of that read my stuff and enjoy it.

But on the other side of the coin, it just bothers me when people COMPLAIN about me (in this case), or when others, are try to give them something of value for free.

So, I guess, that also relates to this blog issue. I do my best to try and make a post here and there and to give people some good value. But at the sametime, I don't think it's fair that people criticize me just because I'm not posting as much as they want me to. Certainly, it's flattering if someone is being more "positive" about the situation if they were to say something like, "John, I really enjoy your blog. I just wish you had the time to post more often!" That compared to someone putting me down because I don't post as often as they want me to.

Okay, my rant is over. Very Happy

John,

I'll quote Earl above:

"But John answered the posts with class, as usual."

And Mike,

I really appreciate your comments and compliments.

Thanks guys for making me feel a lot better Wink

Sincerely,

Paul Short

Why do you feel better, Paul? I'm still totally *beep* at you for suggesting that my blog was good. I can't believe how rude you are.

HA! Smile Of course, I know you were joking.

Well all this talk about blogs got me to changing something on mine. I made some config changes and thought I broke it Smile After about an hour I got it back to normal. Was starting to get worried.
