After reading through Bencivenga Bullets I thought about looking through some ads in magazines and trade journals I subscribe to. The idea was to see if I could spot the good ones and the bad ones.
I thought it would be interesting to bring it here for discussion.
I found this add from a Direct-Mail copywriter, and it didn't seem to have any of the points that I have been reading about, or perhaps it does and I don't quite understand yet.

The add had a short testimonial under the body, and some other graphical elements along with a box in the right corner with a bullet list of the types of industries they have written for.
I know I'm just learning this stuff, but shouldn't this add have more sizzle if they want me to trust they can write good copy? _________________ The Powerseller Report
