I usually don't even bother reading most sales letters from marketers I have grown to trust like Reese. I just see what they are offering, check the price and then order.

However, I did read that sales letter and it was a fantastic one! Some of the elements that he used that I noticed were as follows:

1. Establishes a good introductory story. People love stories and stories sell like crazy.

2. Uses fear as a motivator. I use this one myself and I can tell you it's very powerful.

3. Bullet Point benefits. If people are going to spend money, they want to know what they are getting. One of the best ways to communicate this is by using the classic bullet point benefit technique.

4. Establishes his expertise. Although many of us already know why he's as good as he is, you would be surprised how many people have never heard of John Reese. So it's always a good idea to establish your expertise and credentials so people will understand why they should listen to what you have to say.

5. Price. The price is brilliant. It is high enough to keep the "tirespinners" out, but low enough that the serious marketers are going to look at it and say this is a no brainer. For one of my main products, that's only five sales a month. December was a terrible month for me, but even in December, I've made a lot more than 5 sales and quite frankly the only reason why is because of ONE technique I learned from John Reese.

6. Money Back Guarantee. Money back guarantees do a great job at closing people who are on the fence. It takes the risk away because you get to try the product out and if you don't like it, you get your money back. It also establishes more credibility because it shows the seller is willing to put "his money where his mouth is" so to speak.

7. Accepts credit card and paypal. God bless John Reese for accepting paypal! I don't know about anybody else, but I'm much more likely to make a purchase if the buyer accepts paypal because I can pay for it directly out my profits, as oppose to putting it on a credit card and having to worry about paying for it later. It just makes things a lot easier.

8. Limited Memberships. I started using this technqiue and I saw my opt in rates increase at least 20%, if not more! People don't like to miss out on anything and if you cap it at a certain amount, they are more likely to act now instead of later. The only thing I would have done differently is list the number of charter memberships I plan to sell. He may not have decided yet, but I would have listed it and then made updates periodically to really get people to close.

Copywriting 101 right there on that sales letter folks! Anybody catch anything else I missed?

Wow, I think you got them all! I did read this one, usually I don't. I finally did signed up for it yesterday now that TS finally came and seems to be working! I can hardly wait to see what this newsletter is like!

I think Roosevelt is "one of them" too...
Looking behind the scene, and see the real motivation,
what is the technique, the way John promote his
product.

In my opinion John is a leader first and after a marketer.

Sometimes I have found the best way to learn is to watch what the "leaders" are doing. You do not always have to be cutting edge, just look, learn adapt. Put a spin on a product to differentiate your product or service.

I personally have learned a lot about marketing from just reading John's posts, blog entries, and newsletters.

I totally agree with Roosevelt and Derrick. The beauty of having someone like John is you can see exactly how he markets successfully.

Studying under a master marketer is something you could never put a price on. I was completely lost before John came along because I didn't know who or what to believe.

But Traffic Secrets made a lot of things clear and they actually work. I study everything John does because he is a testaholic, (Wow, that's a new word for the dictionary,) and he figures out what works.

A true marketer will find a way to make a profit and probably stumble a few times along the way. But it's nice to have a marketer like John steer us around some of those obsticles and point us in the right direction.

There are so many hidden treasures that John is giving everyone. I'm glad that others can recognize it too.

I ordered the Reese Report right away without reading the sales letter (not to say I won't go back and study that later).

My thinking with that order was the same thinking I had when I ordered the Traffic Secrets course, which was that if I could find one or two really useful things that would give me a permanent increase in my business it would be more than worth the expense.

Like most TS buyers (at least the vocal ones) the more I got my head around John's methods and thought process, the hungrier I got for more of it. It seems to me that if you liked TS enough to keep it (return policy was pretty liberal) why wouldn't you want to monthly report as well.

Well I am the opposite of many here, I never saw Traffic Secrets, but I did sign up for the Reese Report right away.

I built my hosting company around endless amounts of hard work, endless sleepless nights(like so many others here with their respective ventures).

I did make one mistake though, I purchase Cory Rudl's product, I do not feel it was worth the money, but that was a newbie mistake. I know Cory is a great marketer, but his style did not work for me.

Derrick, care to mention which Rudl product wasn't so hot?

Also, out of sheer curiosity, how many hosting clients do you have?

thanks

Andrew,

Mr. Rudl's "Insider Marketing Secrets" product. Again it wasn't a bad product, but didn't fit with my learning style.

I host around 450-500 domains for internet marketers, and 10 local businesses from the Buffalo NY area and about 10 websites for personal friends Smile

But those numbers change daily with new signups Smile

I think is not the course or the people who wrote it.
Is your mind "clicking" or not regarding the information
you read.

One single phrase in the entire course can change your
income very fast.

You can read tons of very good ideas, if you don't
"respond" properly and more important start applying it
is a wasting time.

Techniques change very fast but principles remain forever.
Human nature is the same for thousands of years.

I think the hard work is not in front of computer....
Brainstorming, a sheet of paper and a pen is, at least
in my case the success road
