| It's been down for two weeks now. How about it, John? How about actually maintaining your website for those of us working hard and building YOUR list at the same time. You can afford to miss these leads. Some of us actually need them. |

Um, John. Should I get on my knees and beg here? Opportunity.com has been down for like three weeks now. I have lost hundreds of dollars this month. Thanks for all the hard viral work you have done, but you are ruining my Christmas because you aren't maintaining the site. Thanks for that:

Jimmy,
Unfortunately, we suffered a MAJOR server crash that we are trying to recover from. We are still working on it.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. This kind of thing happens sometimes when tons of people are reading and writing to a database application.
We hope to have it back up very soon.

We will miss you Opportunity.com. It was a great service that was provided to us. But everyone shall move on in peace, as there are other services similar, and no one should panic.

Opportunity.com Has Closed
After more than 3 years of service, Opportunity.com has been forced to shutdown.
We, unfortunately, experienced a major server crash that we could not recover from. It appears as if the system was receiving a heavy load of "undeliverable" messages amongst other things. The mass amounts of undeliverables were occuring because many users were creating accounts with bogus email addresses; which caused member emails to never reach a valid email account and essentially rendered the service useless.
It was a fun ride while it lasted and we were happy to have been able to provide many entrepreneurs (that were on a low budget) a way to advertise online for free.
If you were an active Opportunity.com user you will need to immediately change your web pages and promotions so they no longer send traffic to your old, now inactive, URL redirects. You need to also stop using your @opportunity.com email address as it will no longer forward to another account.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have no choice but to close down the service. Thank you to everyone that supported our little free service while it was active.
