|
|
I am optimizing several sites promotig the same product for differernt key words and heard that having duplicate sites will penalize the ranking.
If the sites are the same except all the key words are replaced with different key words will that be viewed by search engines as "duplicate".
If I intend to optimize several sites with different key words will I need to make an entirely different site fore each one? If I am promoting the same product that would be challenging to write ad copy that is completely different for each site.

Hi Scott,
I don't think that duplicate content is deemed duplicate simply by virtue of the same keywords. I think as long as you use different copy on the site, you'll be fine. |

As I said in the previous post I plan to use different key words and otherwise the same content.
So the content would be changed slightly but optimized for different key words.
I assume that all marketers are doing this if they target more than one set of key words. I just wonder how Traffic Secrets experts deal with this. _________________ Live Deliberately,

I think you could even use same keywords in both site while you are considering to change slightly the content. Using same keywords could not harm as your competitors might be using same keywords. You may use some unique keywords in your other site to give it own identity.
Here one more option-you may consider to split the content into two parts making both unique. _________________ Outsourced Hosting Support || Server Management

Duplicate sites or contents are not penalized by SEO, they have filters. Vanessa Fox product manager google web master central explained it in an interview in Chicago. There are not penalties, they only filter the duplicate content. _________________ Learn From This FREE Report How I Failed With...

Filter or penalty either way it hurts you! If you are at this for long term I would work on a quality site.
Having a few keywords changed and the same content across your site is pretty useless in my opinion.
