Can someone explain where I put links to other sites (to encourage them to put mine on theirs for SEO) when I have a one page sales letter geared to going for the sale?
Thanks |

Jim,
I wouldn't put links to other sites from your sales site.
I would build a related site on a different IP that you cna link to your sites as well as trade links to other sites. You can then send PR to your sales site from your "content" site.

Derrick,
Thanks for the quick response.
What do you mean by send PR?
Also, that second site could become a review site for various sites that I am interested in linking to. (I suppose)
Jim
P.S. Do you sell domain names as well as hosting services? |

Jim no I do not sell domain names, but if you want a quality registrar as well as a great price head over to:
ev1server.net
$6.49 for a .com

Derrick,
If I do as you say and set up a separate page for my links to other sites, with any luck I'll have 40 -50 links to that page quickly.
At that point all incoming links go to my sales letter and all outgoing links leave from my secondary page.
Do I have that right?
Thanks,
Jim |

Jim I guess you could do it like that if the other webmaster would agree to that.
Or you can have them link to your second site and try to funnel the traffic etc.. to your sales site.

I bet you could find a lot of link partners that would be interested in linking to a different site than the site that links to them (does that make sense?!). That way it should appear as one-way links to search engines, instead of reciprocal.
I haven't tried it myself, but I've received a number of requests like this. Without sounding condescending, briefly explain the value of doing this type of link exchange when you ask for a link back. I think you'll get some bites.

Great points Alice. BTW I put a link to your blog from my "new" blog. Not that you will get much traffic from it since I really do not share the blog with anyone, I just ramble on about stuff
