I run a local web hosting company in the Buffalo NY area. Overall I found offline promotion to be very similar to online in many ways. Building business relationships is key.
I would like to hear your thoughts about running an offline business and hear about the offline business that you run.

Hi Derrick,
My business is completely off-line except for brand marketing, recruitment, and business tools. I started my company over a year ago and we are growing fast. I was just suprised how much of my lead generation was coming from the internet. That was the reason I ultimately purchased TS and am here today.
My off-line business is a direct selling party plan company that provides women the opportunity to earn great income selling fine jewelry. You can check it out at www.sell-yoffi.com. The company is growing fast and we are generating a huge amount of buzz. However, that fast growth has forced me to take a crash course on how to use the internet to grow and support my off-line business.
Good luck with you business.

Hi Derrick:
I own a Debt help company for consumers. We have clients across the US and Canada.
Also own a company that does Sales and Marketing for Tax Shelters here in Canada.
Just acquired the Sales and Marketing rights for a whole range of Health products and sports drinks.
I am moving all the above onto the internet over the next 12 months.
In my spare time I am developing VRE
By the way I will be needing your copywriters help in each of these markets if you could PM me on that.
Also will need your single hosting facilities for several sites but I will talk to you about that later.
I am sure we have a wide variety of interests out there with the key focus - making money and having fun.

Hey,
I am running the Arabic Institute of Commerce, which is the first leading modern Arabic Education in India, providing professional courses since 1993 in the following areas:
Arabic Language Spoken, Written, Arabic Type Writing, Arabic Business Correspondence, Arabic Accountancy, Arabic Computer Courses.
I also provide Arabic/English Translation Service.
I do translation of documents, export catalogues, manuals, and any type of business and technical literatures.
I also manage Singai Publications which is our family business started by my father in 1979 through which we publish books for children to learn arabic and moral teachings.
Since 1993 I was running these businesses in a rented place.
From 2004, May, I am doing these things from a portion of my house itself!
It is interesting to work from home!
Now I have started conducting the courses online too!
Do you know Arabic language is spoken and read by some 600,000,000 people!
Don't you want your site be in Arabic!
If you have such interest, I am here to help you!
The newest addition to our publication is a collection of poems in Tamil for children by father titled "Smiling Flowers".

I am partial owner of a very successful company that deals with C#, plumtree portal development and integration in companies' existing enterprise portals, most of which are fortune 500 companies. We have also developed a product which we are promoting and more to come down the road. Our corporate site is spheric dot ca.
Currently we have consultants in the US and Canada and are in the works of getting into the European market. We are always looking for new talent to join our motivated team. If you know c# and .net and have an interest check out our website. _________________ Logos | Templates | Traffic | Bird Flu Virus | Portfolio |

Welcome to a fellow programmer.
I haven't put my knowledge in programming to use though. Too busy with my web hosting business and internet marketing ventures.

Buffalo NY! Home of "beef on weck" and original hot wings from Frank and Theresa's! (I had a boyfriend in Buffalo in the 80's, visited a few times.) Good food and lovely folks in Buffalo, but just too darned cold for this Maryland gal.
Where does one draw the line between online and offline businesses? I'm a copywriter. I write for both traditional print media (brochures, DM, etc.) and online media (web copy, direct response web copy, articles, etc.) I find that having an online portfolio and brochure site gives me credibility and people will go look me up there when they hear about me or get passed my business card. I get a healthy chunk of biz from local networking, referrals from clients, and when I get around to it, targeted DM. Yet, more and more of my business is coming via the internet, without any organized effort on my part to get traffic to my site. Most of my internet referrals come via discussion board posts. So the internet for me is vital to my business as a promotional tool, but it's not an internet business per se.
I mostly hang around boards like these so I can learn and intelligently discuss IM with my clients. I may not be able to fulfill all their IM needs, but I at least know how those issues affect the copywriting aspect and where I can send them for answers.
P.S. Edited to add:

Back around 1996 I wrote a 600+ page marketing system designed to teach real estate agents and brokers how to market without cold call prospecting. We ran classified ads and full-page display ads to promote the $547 package with great success.
In 1999 we sold the printing presses and transitioned to 100& internet-based model... offering digital subscriptions and the a complete web site hosting/promotion package for real estate agents. And, two years ago, we sold the complete business package for a nice profit.
Today most of our monies are earned online, but we are slowly incorporating various "dirt world" marketing techniques back in. In fact, I've found direct mail response to be significantly higher than email response rates and significantly more profitable even after factoring in the mailing costs.
And so... here we are. We've come full circle.
Be blessed, and GREAT marketing! _________________ Rob Fore
