Does anyone here use Opera? Yes, it's not free, but geez it's FAST! I'm using it for 2 years already, and I really love it. It has all advantages of Firefox, and no disadvantages of IE.

Yes - I use to use Opera before I discovered Firefox. It's definatly faster than I.E but I wouldn't say it's as fast as Firefox. Also certain sites had some compatability issues when using Opera.

Yes.. I experienced compatibility issues once, it was GettyImages website, which didn't work in Opera. However, it's strange... as far as I know, Opera was designed to render web pages very close to IE's rendering. So I think it's more likely to fail your page in Mozilla than in Opera, if you initially created your page for IE only.

Anyway, each browser has its pro's and con's. I personally have like 20 browsers in my browser-park, and I use all of them for testing pages in a development process.

Perhaps I'm not an 'early adopter' but i just hean't found Firefox to be so great and there are features in IE that I miss when using Firefox.

I've been conscious of the security risks with IE and have tried Firefox twice. I always seem to want to go back to IE.

Alice ,

Instead of reading my these line...go and download the firefox.....I will ask you after one month...This question...

Do you still use IE?

And I am sure answer would be "NO"

Apart from that Firefox is free of cost and it has all the functionility of IE and many more....

Just keep the forefox promoting......This is future of Internet...If I am not wrong after netscpape IE has stopped innovating....Firefox is product of Microsoft complecency.....Atleast I am not going to use IE now.....I I have to use IE for particular work....I think a lot

Yes I'm with you Alice, and XP and IE are just as secure as firefox
and with IE7 coming out giving us tabbed browsing, soon there will be no need for any other browser

Now-a-days I am using Opera web browser and it is pretty fast. It has almost all the tools and character of Firefox and run faster. Try it. It is free too with some Ads on it. Get it from www.opera.com

It was bound to happen.

I also chuckle at the new Mac commercials where there's one guy who is a Mac and then the guy who is the PC has this virus and is sniffling and coughing. The Mac guy is all high and mighty because he never gets sick...but keep trying to bring Macs to the mass market and let's see what happens.

I've been trying Firefox again and I still hate it. It seems kind of dumb to me.

I don't like how if you enter an improper URL it just gives a pop-up box that says that site can't be found. For example, I clicked on a link at a forum that had a comma added to the link. Firefox wouldn't even try to go there. With Explorer, I can just remove the comma as it starts to load the page, but Firefox is just too darned lazy to try. And in my estimation, Firefox isn't any faster in bringing back the page not found message than Explorer.

Firefox also asks me to remember passwords when there is no password to remember. I might be filling in a form or something, but there is NO password. Or in phpbb when I'm in the Admin panel trying to delete a spammers account it asks me if it wants me to change the password in its memory.

There are some other weird quirks with the browser that come up, but I can't recall at the moment. Superior browser? I think not. I'm still on Team Gates.

I switched to Firefox, no complaints so far, after having IE run very slow...

it was primarily due to too much memory on harddrive, after cleaning up my ram, both run smoothly...

Well count me in as well, I use firefox for three reasons really. Tabbed browsing and the pop up blocker and less spyware etc problems. Other than that I could do without it, I can't stand all of the updates everytime I turn around.

Plus I find the newer versions are not as good as the previous. I would like to give the other suggested above a try, thanks
