Hi Diana, nice to see you back here.

Both of them, unless Tricky has an new album out?

I'm down with that. All bar the electronic jazz, it sometimes drifts into MOR supermarket music I find, maybe I'm listening to the wrong outfits?
I guess the question now is fave DJ's? _________________ Darren Yates

Hi Darren,
My No1 band at the moment are The Killers.
It's one of the best albums I've heard in a long time.

yes i was away doing the 30 day challenge...although im no fan of timedeadlines ...so for me it will be more like the 50 day challenge.
electronic jazz had to grow on me...so perhaps it maybe the same for you.
...theres nothing like being at your local Coles (Tescos) bagging up the broccoli, and hearing music you like playing over the speakers...
whats the 30 day challenge i hear you ask? ed can explain it better than me. check out this link>>>

I know the Killers, but I don't know who the rest of them are. I guess we don't get them in Canada?
Right now...listening to:
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth. Same old anger and angst, but this one seems to be a bit more melodic.
Missy Elliot - Under Construction - People think it's funny that I'm a rap fan.
The Essential Michael Jackson - All the good one in one place. Only problem is that on a recent road trip to Seattle, my friend and I saw whole new meanings in the songs, "Pretty Young Thing", "Don't Stop til You Get Enough" and a few others. Ick.
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream - My 2 year old broke my CD about 6 months back and I bought a new copy last week. This is still one of my all-time favorite CDs.
U2 - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - My interest in U2 has waned over the years, but I love Sometimes You Can't Make it On Your Own. There's a lesson in there for me somewhere.
Fun topic!

Rap fan hey?
People have been tripping on my "Underachiever's" Rap I threw together last week for Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge.
www.jasonmoffatt.com/podcasts/jmoundiesong.mp3
It was funny because I was just trying to learn how to use the software.
I have not produced a song in 8 years at least, so it was all just a dry run but worked out okay. I was a bit suprised, and so were lots of others. My email box gets filled with all kinds of Undies diggin the hip hop. Country folks in Texas are even emailing giving props, and other across the world.
Hahahahaha, it was really just a accident in a way. I seriosly made the beat in about 45 seconds with no edits, and just scribbled some lyrics.
Fun times.
This is why I love the net. Having fun is much more enticing than trying to make money every second.. Luckily I figured out that having fun can make you $$$ too.
Listen to my "Underachiever Test Song" Part 2 coming in the next few days.

I love Tori Amos. Have a great time!
"AKA Profit Moffatt". I love it! That's what I need in my CD player. I'll be singing "Bloggin' away every day yeah." for a while now. I'm posting this on my blog!
I never thought that 2 of my favorite things - rap and Internet marketing could be brought together. Fantastic.

I listen to too many artists to narrow it down but my current favorite is Cold Play's rendition of Bittersweet Symphony with Rick Ashcroft on vocals. They performed it Live8 London and it kicks ass.
Other discs in my player right now are Breaking Benjamin, Dashboard Confessional, Foofighters, Metaillica's Ride the Lightning, and Linkin Park.

I still listen to a lot of the main-stream songs on the radio but I have been listening to more "unique" things lately.
I have really gotten into the music of Amon Tobin. I found out about him through a friend and I got hooked. He has gotten pretty popular because his music is in the game Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It's hard to even describe what it is. Go to his site www.amontobin.com to listen. It is really cool stuff.
I also still enjoy listening to foreign bands in the original languages (I'm a foreign language freak). Right now I'm into:
Megaherz (awesome german industrial band... sort of like Rammstein)
Natalia Lafourcade (a very unique sound from Mexico)
QBO (the best band to ever come out of Mexico)
Shakira (she is best when singing in spanish)
I also listen to:
Ra, Dead Poetic, Coheed and Cambria, Sevendust
And lots of classical and techno... oh, and Steven Halpern. He is awesome. _________________ David Beitler

The new Foo Fighters CD is intense: "In Your Honor". It consists of two CDs and a DVD. One CD is a very hard sound and the other is acoustic.
I also highly rate the U2 CD that came out earlier this year: "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb". They have rediscovered what they they do best after some misdirection in the 90´s.
I got the Live Aid DVD a while ago, very funny watching some of the stars of the 1980´s - crazy clothes etc. |

Ahhh ... to be trapped in a time warp. sigh
Being an 'old guy', I find myself listening to classic VH, Zeppelin, Beatles, Rush, Yes, Kansas, Floyd, Creedence, OLD Stones, Who, Sabbath, ... so on, and so forth.
Though I DO like the Foo Fighters ... does that make me somewhat cool? LOL
Regards,
Mike 'and I also like the White Stripes' Merz _________________ JV Notify Pro - The Joint Venture List And Forum Community For Experienced JV Marketers. |

Well, I couldn't resist many of the usual suspects here:
Rock & Blues:
Jimi Hendrix- Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Stone Free (MORE COWBELL!!)
Stevie Ray Vaughn- Come On Pt3
Motley Crue- Stick to Your Guns, Starry Eyes
"The Motor City Madman" Ted Nugent- Stranglehold
Bob Segar- Night Moves
The Allman Brothers- Melissa
The Marshall Tucker Band- Can't You See?
Muddey Waters- Mannish Boy (awesome blues)
Alternative:
The Cure- Pictures of You
Alice In Chains- No Excuses
Allanis Morrisette- ANYTHING on "Jagged Little Pill"- All I Really Want (guitar rocks)
New Music:
3 Doors Down- Away From The Sun
Switchfoot- Dare You To Move
And the greatest band ever... DEF LEPPARD-Hysteria, Photograph anything on either album.
Biggest disappointments:
Mettallica- After the Napster crap you can still only download their whole albums which takes away the point of downloadable music. After listening to them since middle school and the Master of Puppets days, this *beep* me off.
Led Zeppelin- No downloadable music yet..
Honorable Mention:
Norah Jones- Great rainy day music that can capture a mood. Is this a sign that I'm getting old??????????????????????
Most Bizzare:
Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" is #8 on the iTunes "Top 100" today, August 05, 2005
Well there you have it..
Take Care,
