Fellow Marketer Needs Help With Hurricane Katrina

Hi everyone,

I have decided to take some time off from my internet businesses and help those in need in New Orleans. I am about a 6 hour drive from Louisiana, so I decided to rent a U-haul truck here in Tallahassee, stuff if full with bottled water and food items, and drive it over to help those who really need it.

I will be leaving next weekend (September 9th, 2005). I will be paying for the truck rental, gas to get the supplies over there and some of the supplies themselves, however I will still need some help.

If you can help me in any way (donate, send an email to your list asking for donations, etc) it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how much food and water I can get in a U-haul, but I'm sure I can get at least $10,000 worth of goods or more inside.

I plan on donating $1,000 myself, but the truck and gas will be roughly $300 or so, leaving about $700 for supplies.

I will be meeting fellow Internet Marketer Jeff Little (who lives in Louisiana) and we will be cooking hot meals for people while we are there. He has the ability and tools to cook for large groups of people. If anyone wants to join us rather than donating money, please feel free to contact me.

100% of the money is going to food and water (no administrative fees like those charity organizations try to pull).

I figured this is the least I could do, considering the Internet has granted me the lifestyle to be able to do things like this. The IM community is one of the most generous groups of people in the world. Let's show the world what a difference we can make.

I chipped in and am confident that this donation will benefit people in many ways.

It's not much, but enough to buy some food for somebody.......

Every little bit counts.

It's tough to figure out where to send your donations to right now considering many leaches will try and prey on people, but Greg, I really think your approach is the right one.

I too thought about giving money to the red cross, etc, but I figured, why not just contribute 100% and distribute it myself so I can see first hand where the money is going.

This is just such an AWESOME thing you are doing Greg. I saw some footage on the news this morning and it is just devastating.

It is a further frustration to me that whilst I love my day job, because its dollars for hours I can't this time jump on a plane and come and help you - as seriously I would love to help out!!!!

Further leverage - love it!

I hope you attract a huge support crew physically.

I have found some very small churches that are not affiliated with any big groups or companies that are in dire need of anything we have. I will go and visit a few tomorrow to get a better idea of what exactly they need. We will take pictures and post them on the site so that you can get that warm feeling in your heart, as I know we will!!

Just to follow up...

Jeff and I have learned there is NO WAY to get into New Orleans anymore. They are shipping everyone out to small towns outside of the City, which we will be going to instead. These are the people who have lost everything and all they have are the clothes on their backs, who will be living in these shelters until who knows when.

Thanks for your comments. That really means alot.

We are getting support from all kinds from all kinds of people (not just marketers) and it has been amazing. I just hoped to raise about $1,000 or so and I would have been happy. As it turns out, there was one person who donated $1,000 by himself!

There is nothing like pulling together in a time of need like this. Thanks to people like yourself, we are sure to help thousands of people.

Please feel free to tell your friends, families, local businesses, radio stations, whoever you can. Even the $5 donations we are getting are adding up, as can be seen on the website.

Yes, there is a reason I'm in love with him after all. Smile

He is the most generous and kind person I've ever met.

It's remarkable, really, what happens in times like these. So many people feel helpless, and turn to feeling depressed and anxious. When you reach out to help, no matter how hopeless it may seem, the reward isn't a financial one...it is a reward like no other...the profound depth of feeling you get when you know that you CAN make a difference. You guys are setting an example, and I applaud it wholeheartedly.

Thanks so much for the campaign!! We appreciate your efforts and you are just as responsible for helping these folks as we are. Thats why its so important that we take pictures and update the site often. We know many people would like to do something and are unable to due to travel, work,etc...so that is why we want to take pictures and show you exactly where every dollar of you money goes. This is heartbreaking. It is commendable to see our fellow
networkers stepping up to help these people. My prayers
go out to the homeless and grieving during this tragedy.

I also wish to offer prayers and encouragement to Greg and
Jeff. The emotional trauma will be tremendous, and you
