Hi there!

I hope everything is alright with you and that you will have a prosperous new year. I’ve read through the Forum with great interest and now I’ve decided to throw out my questions for you… Hopefully you’ll give me some kind of response. The questions are at the end – but please read through.

Just a small note… English is not my first language but I think I’m doing pretty good… Confused

Anyhow, I’m a “newbie” internetmarketer – and I am FORCED to get serious about it. This is why:

After a long and very lucrative marketing-career on the offline-market (don’t get me wrong… I’m only 31 Smile ), the company where I work fired my marketingchiefass and told me to repeat my success on the online market. Sure, I said, how hard can it be!

Well… it turned out to be pretty darn hard! I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

I’ve done alright so far – but the more I read and learn, the more certain I am that I’m able to do much better.

I’ve got great resources at hand: A competent webmaster and a nice budget to play around with. However, the process is to slow.

For example, I come up with an idea and the implementation of that idea always meets resistance. Either it is the boss that’s not convinced or the Webmaster that says that “the idea won’t get any more traffic”. Unfortunately, as competent as he is, he’s kind of a “designwebmaster” – and that’s where his focus is at. Marketing strategies are not his Brand of Vodka so to say…

The bottom line is – I have to fight for the ideas and strategies - and it is just draining my energy. End of story!

Therefore I’ve decided to start building sites my self. I will simply prove them wrong (that’s the spirit! – right…).

I’m willing to put down stupidly amounts of time and effort – because at the end, I intend to get it right. I will not quit my day-job, but the money coming in from my “night-job” will be mine. I will prove the strategies; show the results to my boss and mr. Webmaster and implement them in my day-job (got a nice provision on the sales, so to say).

For the last couple of months, without spending any serious amounts of money, I’ve - without lying too much - read 10.000 pages of material regarding “selling stuff on the net”. I’ve just recently reached Mr. Reese’s site and this Forum, and I tell you right now – FOR THE FIRST TIME I FEEL THAT SOMEONE IS TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING THAT’S NOT A RIP-OFF. (Guys, I’ve browsed your sites too… you’re good!).

This is my strategy:

1. Buy XSitePro.

It seems to be a nice tool which even I can learn how to handle. I intend to start forums, blogs, VRE-sites in general, sell offline- and online-products and blablabla. You get the concept… Question: Is XSitePro up for the Task or do you recommend any other product or products?

2. Buy Mr. Reese’s Traffic Secrets.

As I said – I don’t think it is a Rip-Off… but it’s about two years old now. Is it up to date? And, if I take proper action – will it help me? - or does it leave out any main keys to drive traffic? (I don’t think so but $ 1 000 is a fair amount of money and I have to ask the question).

3. Improve my copywriting skills.

I’m alright now, but WOW is there much to learn! Any products you’ll recommend? Give me an affiliatelink – I don’t care… BUT BE HONEST about it!

Finally, prepare go get a whole bunch of stupid questions from Mr Andy… In return I will post my progress and share my downfalls and successes with you (perhaps ask you to lend me a shoulder to cry on… Smile ).

Once again, have a splendid 2007!

Andy

Mr. Andy,

I say:

Buy XSitePro
Buy Mr. Reese’s Traffic Secrets
Improve your copywriting skills

If you're going the web designer route, I would hire a web designer that will listen to what you want. Why? Because you're the boss now. LOL! Or you can hire someone to create a customized website template that you can easily work with in XSitePro. I haven't worked with XSitePro, but it looks search engine friendly--as far as html code wise.

As for Mr. Reese's Traffic Secrets, it's a classic, a must part of your online learning. It was one of the first learning courses online that I ran into that really dives right into the meat. 2 years old, it's still good.

Copywriting, I suck at stuff sometimes. But that's what good editors are for and hiring ghost writers are for. LOL!

Sounds like keep asking questions when you need help, and listen to yourself more when you know in your gut you are right. But don't get me wrong ask questions still, it helps.

Wink

No problem. Don't forget to also check out Reesy's Blog. www.marketingsecrets.com/newblog and if you haven't signed up for his newsletter I would do so. He discusses on how it's not a good idea to have a whole bunch of projects at the same time. That we must focus on one project and grow it as big as possible. (That's what I took from it ) I like this advice because I have trouble focusing in general. LOL! I'm probably getting off subject now and shouldn't be here right now. LOL! but I'm taking a break. Hehe.

Okay Andy, see you around.
