Have you tried Musicmatch Jukebox, Ken?

http://www.musicmatch.com/home.htm

There's a free version ... and a plus version for $19.99.

Ken -
Are you referring to the Sound Recorder on your computer under accessories? If you're recording simple files, this should do it. If you need something a bit more complex (i.e. manipulating, editing files, etc.), I recommend Sound Forge, which I've been using for years - DJ Dave

When I first started recoding audio on the computer a long time ago, I used something called 3D recorder, which was free and allowed you to record up to 10 min. clips. without having to upgrade. Don't know if they still have that or not. Now, I've been happily using my Sound Forge, which Sony now makes, and I haven't looked back.

I'm sure there are a lot of free audio software programs out there, and I would definitely seek one out if you're only doing a few clips, and that's all. But you definitely want to go with something a little more robust, if you plan on doing audio for awhile, as you never know when you'll need to convert a file, change pitch, change tempo, etc.

I'll see if I can find that old program I used to use... - Dave

Keep going, Dave ... audio and video are something I can use a lesson or two in, myself. Wink

Happy holidays,
